There has been a increase in the the making of horror movies in the zombie genre over the past few years. Some would say that it is overkill, and I’d have to agree…for the most part that is. Me and my buddies were flipping through the available movies that we could order from our direct tv deals. We picked ‘Zombieland’ so that we could be entertained by some moderately-unrealistic violence. This movie was great. It starts out with the country becoming under attack by zombies, and it’s pretty comical. You then begin to follow Jesse Isenberg, known as ‘Columbus,’ who is a lone survivor in search of other people. He runs into Woody Harrelson’s character, ‘Tallahassee,’ starts to show him the ropes of zombie kill for sport and survival. They run into two girls that are played by Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin, who rob them of their car and leave them stranded. After regrouping, the continue on their trek for survival, where they end up going through celebrity neighborhoods. They decide to visit Bill Murray’s house, and find him in full make-up pretending to be a zombie. His theory is that they do not attack their own kind, so he would be safe. But Jesse’s character, ‘Columbus,’ shoots Bill Murray, thinking that he was in fact a real zombie. I think that Bill Murray was the highlight of the movie. I love just about everything that he is in, and this was no exception. The movie ends on a free-for-all murder spree, where the guys have to save the two girls for real this time. They do, of course, and then they team up and continue their quest for a new life amongst the turmoil. You’ve love it if you like movies like Shaun of the Dead
