This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni’s Fountain of Youth Summit, which can be found at http://fountainofyouthworldsummit.com. In this excerpt, Dr. Carol Look shares on foundations of Emotional Freedom Technique. The Fountain of Youth World Summit with Dr. Carol Look, author of Attracting Abundance.Kevin: I am psyched to have you on board because some of this stuff is just so ground breaking and so awesome. Carol, let’s start talking EFT. Let’s get into how you started into eft. And then we’ll move on to an explanation of what EFT is.Carol: Okay. I started as a hypnotist and a regular therapist. And one of my colleagues in my hypnosis class said, ‘If you think hypnosis is good, you’ve got to try eft. I didn’t know what it was. And I read the advertisement and it sounded, frankly, too good to be true. It really did sound too exciting and I went to my first class ten years ago. And I practiced and practiced and practiced and practiced and kept getting results and I was very skeptical when I started.
But when I started having incredible results with my clients, and helped them feel empowered because they were using something within themselves, rather than another tool outside of themselves, and they didn’t have to go to somebody outside of themselves, that just really sold me.
And I say to people, ‘I wouldn’t still be doing it ten years later, if I wasn’t having shocking results.’ I’m a very impatient and very skeptical person. So, if you’re going to sell me something, it better knock my socks off right away.
And it was just really ground breaking for me, for my practice, for my clients and still is. In fact, it’s growing because I get better at it every year, so I find the successes from it are even more exciting.Kevin: So, tell me, as a skeptical person, let’s lay the ground work for this, tell me how you learn to accept this. I mean, what was the tipping point?Carol: The tipping point was what my clients said to me. So they would say, ‘I don’t get it. I’ve never felt this way before. I don’t get it. What are you helping me do here? I’ve never been calm about the situation. I don’t understand, Carol. I didn’t eat this week in the way that I used to eat when I’m anxious. And so they kept coming back to me and saying something different. What are you doing? What is this weird energy technique? And so that really helped my own skepticism. Even though I helped myself with things as well. You know, you always have to see outsiders give you feedback about something. Especially something so strange as eft.
I mean, that’s how I start the explanation. I tell people, ‘It looks weird, it sounds weird, and it’s going to be uncomfortable to watch it, or do it on yourself.’ It’s just bizarre. But, if someone thinks it’s bizarre and then they get a fantastic result, the bizarre goes out the window. Nobody cares anymore.
And I say to people, ‘Look, I am so conservative as a traditionally trained psychotherapist. If I’m still doing this thing, if I’m still working with this, you’ve got to know it works.Kevin: Yeah. So, let’s talk about eft. I mean, if you can give us maybe, 2-3 minutes on what it is and the whole principles behind it.Carol: Okay. Emotional Freedom Techniques, eft. What we’re doing is tapping on places on the face and the body, in the same place that a traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist would put needles, okay?
So all of your listeners who have been to an acupuncturist before, they know that they put the needles in the face and the body and the legs. What we’re doing is tapping on those same places. And why would we tap there?
We’re tapping on the end points of the meridian because we’re cleaning out the congestion. Again, if you read a lot about traditional Chinese medicine, they talk about congestion in your meridian system. What are meridians? Meridians are channels, circuitry of energy and electricity that go through our body.Kevin: Um hmm.Carol: So, we have all these circuits and all these highways really going through our body that connect our organs and everything inside of us. And the meridians are these lines of electricity, basically. And what we’re doing is tapping on them as we’re focused on the problem. And that seems to neutralize, or metabolize, or just really collapse the problem. Because our problem, whether it’s a craving, or a fear of success, or pain, our problems are energetically based, right?Kevin: Okay.Carol: Even though someone says, ‘Oh, well, it’s just a flu bug.’ Uh huh. It is the flu bug, but how did you get the flu bug? You had to be energetically prepared and ready and susceptible to it.Kevin: Okay.Carol: You and I could go through three airports on a trip, and you would get the flu and I wouldn’t. Why is that? Because for some reason, something; you know, I tell people I ride the subways all day. I ride the subways in New York and I have clients come in and they’re sick. I don’t get the cold until I’m energetically available to it.
So our problems; now cravings. Not everybody has cravings for cigarettes. Why do some people have it? Because there’s a problem, there’s a disruption in their energy system. Maybe you had the same car accident that I had. Maybe ten other people we know had the same car accident. We don’t all respond the same way, because it’s our energy and our vibration that effects everything.Kevin: Right.Carol: So, it doesn’t matter what your symptom is, the energy; you know, we have our body’s, we have the bones and the vascular system and our skin and our breathing apparatus, and then, what’s behind all of that? Energy. Things come through our energy first. So if you’re phobic of driving over bridges and I’m not, well, what’s the difference? The difference is us. It’s not the bridge. Same bridge. Same bridge, same town.Kevin: Right.Carol: So what we like to say to people is it is acupuncture without the needles. Or, psychological acupuncture. So you have to be focused on the issue. You have to be in the energy field. You have to be in that head of it, of the problem. And then while you’re there, while you’ve called up the file, you tap and say words, so that your brain can reprocess what the problem is and what you’ve been working with.
That’s why, you know, some people will say, ‘Carol, how can you use this for attracting abundance and for pain control and for stopping chocolate cravings?’ Because it’s the same thing that we’re getting, we’re getting to the bottom line. We’re getting to the foundation of all our issues. And the foundation is a disruption in the energy system.Kevin: So you’re saying that the ancient Chinese medicine has talked about congestion in the meridian channels for a long period of time. Now these are some of things, that you just mentioned, are some of the things that are manifested from that. What are some of the other things that come about from this ‘congestion’?Carol: Well, it could be low energy. It could be the Chinese Master that I see now, downtown in New York, he’s written several books on breast cancer.Kevin: Okay.Carol: And so, cancers, diseases, susceptibility to diseases, pain, cravings, anxiety, the incredible incidence of anxiety in our society, it’s really, really high. I don’t think it used be that high 100 years ago.Kevin: Okay.Carol: So, you know, these disruptions, what happens, these disruptions happen in our body, at this energetic, electrical level. You know, if you don’t have electricity in your body, if they can’t hook you up to an EKG or an ECG, you know, you’re dead, right?
We are full of electricity and energy. And what happens is it gets, basically the wiring gets a little faulty, you know?Kevin: Uh huh. Uh huh.Carol: Depending on what you’ve been exposed to. What the subconscious communication in your family is. What the pollutions are. How you eat. How you think. How you’re taught. Basically, our wiring needs retuning and I love using that phrase for people. We can rewire the brain.
Those are current theories right now about the plasticity of our brain and how we’re able to really neutralize traumas. I mean, really incredible traumas that have happened for people. And many times, what are pe
ople doing when they overeat, over drink, over, you know, look at the computer. What are they doing? They’re trying to numb their feelings.Kevin: Okay.Carol: Well, where do the feelings come from? The feelings come from high anxiety, or childhood abuse, or some kind of trauma, as I said. You know, a car accident, or witnessing something painful, or having a loss, grief.
So there are many things that we bump into as humans that need to be cleared in our system. We can’t just walk away and say, ‘Oop. No problem. That didn’t bother me. That car accident, no problem.’ We can’t walk away that way. It gets lodged in ourselves and every cell in our body.Kevin: Hmm.Carol: So, we’re using this tapping technique. A lot of people call it the ‘tapping technique instead of EFT. We’re using the tapping to rewire and neutralize and normalize your reaction.Kevin: Now, the old story is to change some of these things that you’re mentioning, anxieties and all of this, is to spend a lot of time
with them. Now, EFT deals with things very efficiently, in most cases.
A lot of people could probably say that that is kind of strange. They
might not believe that. What do you have to say for both practices, in terms of, the old way to look at this and now eft as maybe skipping over some of that?Carol: Well, the old way, traditional psychotherapy is about insight and talking and reworking the trauma. And sometimes, it still works, right?Kevin: Yeah.Carol: I still have people coming to me for regular psychotherapy. And they don’t want to do any of the alternative methods. And frankly, we’re quite used to spending a long time discussing and talking about our problems.
EFT gets, cuts so quickly to the chase. Because we’re going to the energy, we’re going to the problem.Kevin: Okay.Carol: We’re going right to the heart of it with the tapping and the wording and the focus and the intention and attention that I have seen problems that are supposedly ‘longstanding’ disappear quite quickly. And I mean disappear. One of my famous stories, I just tell it all the time, because I love it, is doorman, who had migraines for 25 years.Kevin: Wow.Carol: He hasn’t had one in six years because of the tapping.Kevin: Really?Carol: Migraines that made him lie down, go to bed, the doormen would say, ‘Oh, God! That’s Angel, he’s in bed again because of his migraines.’ The made fun of him. Now they make fun of him because sometimes he taps.
(Both laugh) But this, 25 years of migraines are gone? How do you make sense of that?Kevin: Yeah.Carol: How do you make sense of these people losing weight for the first time? They’ve done 47 diets. It’s not that they’ve lost weight for the first time, but they’ve kept it off for the first time.

I own a computer consulting business. I have been working with computers for the last 16 years. The most common question that I get from many of my home user customers is “What computer should I buy?” There are so many different configurations and choices when you go to purchase a computer that it makes it difficult unless you know what the computer parts are, even then you still have many different choices. Most people just want to purchase computer quickly and would rather that someone just help them pick the one that would best suit their needs without trying to learn about all of the details. I can certainly understand that. For example, I personally don’t want to know the details about how my plumbing works. I would just like the plumber to fix the problem or do what is needed without hassling me with the details. But then you have that issue with being able to trust what someone is recommending you purchase. Is it really a good deal and is the sales person really recommending the best computer for your needs. Most of the sales people I have to believe are doing their very best to help you make the correct choice but it is better that you understand some of the basic details/components about the computer that you are getting ready to purchase to make the sales persons job easier and to better understand what the options are for you when you are shopping around. So let’s get right to it: 1. The Processor or CPU (Central Processing Unit) – This is the driving force or you could say heart in your computer. It also acts as a traffic cop to the data being processed. So the faster it is the faster data can be processed. I always recommend that you everyone purchase one or two steps up from the least available if I am custom building a computer on the Dell Site or HP’s site. If you will go to one of these sites and click on one of the computers to custom build it you will see the options that I talking about. 2. RAM or Memory – Some people get this confused with Hard Drive space. Hard Drive space is a totally separate thing and you should have much more of it. Think of RAM or Memory as your desktop or temporary storage. The bigger your desktop the more room that you will have to layout papers to view without getting up from your chair so the more RAM or Memory that you have the better but it gets expensive if you go over the mid point offered. For example at this time the mid point for most PC’s would be around 2GB of RAM or Memory. I would suggest a minimum of at least 1GB for most applications but if you are doing something like graphic/image editing applications or playing games you could need more. You should check the application that you think would be most demanding or graphical to determine what the minimum amount of RAM or Memory is recommended and I would then get more than the recommended amount for improved performance. 3. Hard Drive – This is the device that actually stores your data when you save it. Think of it as your filing cabinet or permanent storage (at least until you delete it) . You will need to determine what you will be using your computer for. For example if you will be using your computer mainly to surf the internet and save Microsoft Word Documents you probably will not need over the standard drive size (for example at the time of this writing – 80GB or 160GB is standard depending on the type/model of computer you purchase) but if you want to purchase music, save photos, or will be doing a lot of image editing on your computer you may want to invest in a bigger hard drive (for example – 250GB) or you can always get an external drive to store your work on. 4. CD/CD-RW/DVD/DVD-R/DVD-RW – What more choices?? These are CD drive choices of today and of course there is Blue-Ray which I would only recommend if you are really into burning CD’s and chances are if you are reading this you will not need that technology but you can always Google “Blue-Ray” to find out more about it if you think that you would be interested. I would recommend that you purchase the best that you can afford regarding CD drives. Below is a quick run down of what each will allow you to do: CD – Read-only CD’s – installs most programs with the exception of programs that come on DVD discs. DVD – Read-only CD’s and DVD’s – this would at least allow you to read/install programs from DVD disc and play DVD movies. CD-R – Allows you to install programs from CD’s, create CD’s for music/data – you can only write to CD-R CD’s which means that you can only write to the CD once. CD-RW – Allows you to install programs from CD’s, create CD’s for music/data/rewrite to CD-RW disc but you can only write once to CD-R disc still. DVD-R – Allows you to install programs from CD/DVD disc, create CD-R/DVD-R CD/DVD’s for music/data/videos. You can only write once to the disc. DVD-RW – Allows you to install programs from CD/DVD disc, create CD-R/DVD-R/CD-RW/DVD-RW CD/DVD’s for music/data/videos. You can rewrite to CD-RW or DVD-RW discs. 5. Do I need a floppy disk? Most people wouldn’t really need this option any more since most programs come on CD’s or DVD’s these days. 6. Video Card – This is the device that you will connect your monitor to. Most of the time you can just take the standard video card but if you intend on modified photos or playing games you may want to invest in a better video card – keep in mind that video cards also have memory so the more memory the better here also. 7. Operating Systems – Honestly at the time of this writing I prefer Windows XP Pro SP2 since there are still some issues with Windows Vista even with SP1 at this time. For example there are some issues with software and printers. If you purchase a computer from the link that I give you below you can choose to purchase most of the computers with Windows XP Pro SP2 still. Most of the computers in the store’s today will have the Windows Vista Home operating system on them. It will work and if you are just going to use the latest programs, devices and search the internet this may be the operating system that will work for you. 8. Last but not least would be that you will for sure need some type of antivirus. I would highly recommend purchasing Symantec Internet Security and understand that you must pay for the subscription each year or pay for a 24/36 month subscription in order to keep getting updates. I have so many times worked on peoples computers where their antivirus had ran out and they had gotten viruses. They didn’t even know that it had ran out because they forgot that they must update it or it seemed unimportant then I get a call because their computer is infested with pop-ups, etc. Here are some links that are helpful if you would like to view my recommendations: Dell Hot Offers www.hp.comI would highly recommend a Dell OptiPlex for PC’s or Latitude for a laptop. You can go through the Dell Hot Offers to get the best deals. The reason that I would suggest these models is that these models have a standard 3 year warranty and these are the models that are standard for business. What is the advantage? Well, the parts that would be in these model of computers would have been through the testing process and should be more reliable. For example the Inspiron, XPS, and Vistro may have later technology but that is just it these computers are more stable for business use. I can’t say that you would have any problems with the Inspiron, XPS, Vistro, or any other brand of PC that you would buy but I am just saying that the Optiplex and Latitude seem to me to be a better computer. If you want some of the later technology (for example built-in SD, Micro SD card readers, capability to watch TV from your computer, etc.) I would recommend purchasing something like the XPS or Vistro. One more very important thing is to get the media for the operating system with the computer that you purchase or make the restore disc as soon as you get the computer since it would be necessary if you have to restore your system to factory default later. Here is an example of a standard PC that I would have setup for a customer (remember that this is as of 04/07/2008 – in other words th
e prices change regularly but this will give you an idea): Optiplex 330 MiniTower Starting Price $1282 Instant Savings $352 SubTotal $930 This would include the following: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4500 (2.2GHz, 2M, 3322T – Processor Geniune Windows XP Pro SP2 with media Operating System 2GB DDR2 Non-ECC SDRAM, 667MHZ (2 DIMM) RAM or Memory 160GB High Reliability SATA 3.0 GB/s and 8MN Databurst Cache – Hard Drive 16X DVD-ROM SATA, Cyberlink Power DVD DVD Drive Dell 20 inch E207FP Widescreen Flat Panel, Analog Internal Speaker At least get the internal speaker so that you can hear the computer if you receive a beep or error Standard Keyboard Standard Mouse I would suggest that you purchase an optical mouse.Microsoft Office Basic and Adobe Standard This was an additional $150 so if you don’t need it you can use OpenOffice.org to do the same thing and it is FREE Norton internet security 36 month subscription If you want to use something free you can use AVG Free but I would recommend Norton over AVG personally 3 year warranty This is a standard warranty for this model computer As I said this is as of 04/07/08 and the price I am certain will be different when you view this product and there may be even a different model number but the Optiplex and Latitude models should be available. I hope that this does help someone out there and makes it clearer when you go to purchase a computer what you need to be looking for.

FHA home loan Florida, FHA Mortgage Florida, Florida home loan,

Purchasing a Florida home is one of life’s major landmarks and for some, it is even a dream come true. Securing an FHA mortgage is the most important piece of the Florida home loan puzzle.

The FHA loan program was created to help increase homeownership. The  FHA home loan makes buying a home easier and less expensive than other types of real estate mortgage home loan programs. Some highlights of the FHA loan program are:

Other FHA loan Advantages Include:

Minimal Down Payment and Closing Costs.

Easier Credit Qualifying Guidelines such as:

Easier Debt Ratio & Job Requirement Guidelines such as:

Homeowners enjoy the benefits of investing in their Florida home year after year. For some, there comes a time when that investment can come in handy. Refinancing your home loan with FHA can prove to be an effective way to put that equity in your Florida home to work.

Florida has FHA loan limits these FHA loan limits were established to define how much you can borrow for FHA home loan. Each state has different FHA loan  limits, so be sure to look up your state to understand what is available for your FHA home loan.FHA home loans are easier and less expensive than other home loan programs.

There are many reasons for Florida homebuyers to investigate an FHA home loan for their next purchase. First time Florida homebuyers should explore FHA loan options because it’s easier to qualify for an FHA loan than qualifying for a conventional mortgage..  FHA mortgage loans are guaranteed by the government, making your home loan application more appealing to FHA approved  lenders. Since the typical first-time FHA mortgage applicant is young and just starting out their careers, chances are they still have student loans and other credit card debts to content with; The FHA  mortgage loan  costs less and is more forgiving of youthful indiscretions with credit and payments.FHA mortgage loans don’t require a big down payment. For most Florida  first-time homebuyers this can be an advantage; that typical Florida mortgage applicant in the early stages of a new career often doesn’t have a large down payment set aside specifically for purchasing a Florida home. Luckily the  FHA mortgage only requires a low 3.5% down payment, and that money can come from a variety of sources including an FHA down payment assistance program including Florida Grants. For Florida first time buyers, closing cost can be another issue to contend with. For the Florida homebuyer typical closing costs for FHA home loans are around 6% of the purchase price. One of the biggest advantages with an FHA Loan is that the seller can pay up to 6% of the  Florida homebuyers closing cost and prepaid

 FHA mortgage loans  are not  just for Florida first-time home buyers. Florida homeowners use FHA refinance mortgages to  help people get out of sub-prime adjustable rate mortgages with interest rates on the brink of a huge increase. Florida homeowners on the brink of foreclosure with a conventional mortgage loan are finding that  FHA home mortgage refinancing is a godsend for those who want to keep their Florida  home.. The advantages of using an FHA mortgage include a low fixed rate mortgage guaranteed by the FHA. This means, predictable FHA mortgage payments over the life of the loan and lower interest rates making it easer for mortgage applicants to qualify with lower payments..FHA also provides cash-out refinancing for those who need to use equity built up in their Florida home for unexpected expenses. FHA cash-out refinancing mortgage may offer lower interest rates than traditional home equity loans; you may qualify for one of two FHA mortgage plans which offer cash-out refinancing. One offers loan amounts for up to 97.75% of the appraised value of the home, another FHA refinancing loan offers amounts up to 85% of your Florida homes  appraised value. Each FHA mortgage loan has its own requirements;

FHA home loans should take up no more than 35% of your Gross monthly income ( income before taxes) , and your FHA loan officer will ask for verification of your income to make the calculation. While some Florida mortgage applicants  are able to get conventional loans using “stated income”, requirements for FHA home loans such as FHA refinancing loans require copies of your income tax returns to verify the actual amount of money you report to the government. If your job situation has changed since your last tax filing, you may be able to furnish proof of income through your new employer.FHA mortgages have specific requirements for income, debt-to-income ratios, maximum FHA  loan amounts and other details; each type of FHA mortgage loan is unique and must be applied for individua

While it is not necessarily the most inexpensive of the flooring options available on the market today, hardwood floors are certainly one of the simplest and most lovely options available. Wood matches just about everything, and you don’ have to worry about vacuuming or those nasty smells that just won’t seem to leave carpet. It is an effective option for floor covering and if you take care of your hardwood floors, they will last you a very long time.

However, having hardwood flooring in your home is about more than wishing it was there and deciding to have it. Here are the three things that you should know about installing hardwood flooring in your home.

DIY Is Not Always Cheaper

Hardwood floors are certainly something that those handy people out there in the world are able to take care of. Buying wood and laying it down as flooring in your home sounds a great deal easier than it is. There are many different kinds of wood that can be used for flooring in your home and depending on your needs; there are great deals of different styles to choose from. You want your flooring to resist nicks and scrapes, but you want it to be able to get some character as well.

There are all of these things and more to think about, and if you install your wood flooring all on your own, chances are that you will not be able to get the solid advice that you might wish you had later. You want your floor to last as long as possible and although you might be very willing and able to put in your new hardwood floor all by yourself, the costs down the line might make this not-so worth it. Do you want to end up having to have your floors redone because of an error on your, the amateur’s, part?

Not All Wood is the Same

The more money that you spend the better quality of wood flooring you will be able to get as far as outward appearance goes; although a floor may not look as uniform and sleek as another type of wood floor it will probably last just as long. The quality and type of wood that you select for your floor has a lot to do with how you want your flooring to look when it’s down. Do you want a smooth look or do you like the way that natural knotholes look in the wood? Do you prefer the way that wide planks look on the floor or do you prefer the look of thinner, smaller pieces of wood for your flooring?

Depending on what you are willing to spend, there are a great deal of different ways that you can go with the wood for your flooring. You can buy First, Second, or Third wood, which is a description of the type or quality of wood on the market ranked in order of quality. Clear is the finest wood that you will be able to get a hold of. It has little to no grain marks or knot holes in it, so if you want the best quality that is the way to go.

You Are In It for the Long Haul

While hardwood floors are a great option for the floor covering in your home, be sure that that is what you want to do, and that it is an acceptable long term solution for you and your home. While the hardwood floor will not have to be vacuumed, it has to be specially cleaned and probably swept constantly (unless you are a fan of dirty feet). Also, keep in mind that depending on the quality of wood that you purchase you may have to deal with some small repairs due to warping or splitting, or simply due to damage that is unsightly for your home. Either way, hardwood floors are much easier to maintain than they are to replace and although you will probably be thrilled to keep your floors for years to come, it will be rather difficult to do otherwise.
